What A Weekend!

This past weekend was my first full weekend in Flagstaff since school has started. Pathetic? No. September was a rather busy month and there always seemed to be a reason I need to be home i.e. boyfriend, doctor's appointments, my dad's last shift at the station, bridal shower, and vacation. Anywho, I had a bit of a rough week and joked around to my best friend about coming to see me. To my surprise, she said yes! My week instantly turned around and I was anticipating her presence in the mountains! We planned on her coming up Friday, but her dog and work had other plans for her. So Saturday it was! As soon as she got here, I couldn't keep my mouth shut (just ask her, she was trying to nap and I wouldn't let her...haha). We decided to have dinner at Lumberyard Brewery because I had been there with my mom, sister, and nephew and it was delicious! Unfortunately, this time around wasn't as pleasant. The service took longer than it should have and by the time we got our luke warm food, we weren't hungry anymore. At least we got to enjoy some Midori Margaritas :-) After dinner, we ventured to Downtown Flagstaff since I have not been down there since the big 2-1 in May. We were walking towards Collins Irish Pub and saw that Maloney's was bumpin (haha) and decided to try that instead. I had rememberd my sister saying that her and Matt have been there, so I decided to carry on the tradition. We ended up seeing some friends from high school and shared our girls night out with them. After Maloney's we walked two feet to the next bar, San Felipe where we closed down the place. Needless to say, it was a fun first night experiencing downtown and I am happy it was with my best friend.

Along with the excitement of Meg's visit, I also worked all weekend. I am a nanny in Flagstaff for a beautiful little girl, Ellie. She is going to be one in a few months and I just love her to death! She gives me my baby fix while being away from Jaxson. Little Miss Ellie is just gorgeous. Blonde hair, blue eyed kind of gorgeous. She has an adorable smile that shows her two bottom teeth and a wonderful personality to go along with her looks. Watch out Mindy and Eric, she's going to be a handful with the boys! She is already walking at 10 months and most people would think that makes the job harder, but I happen to LOVE it! As we sit on the floor and play with her toys or read books, she will randomly walk up to myself with open arms and share a hug. It's melts my heart each time and gives me the reassurance that I am doing something right! I am sure going to miss this little girl when my time here in Flag is done. Luckily, the Harpster family loves her just as much as I do so I can look forward to trips to the valley or trips up to Flagstaff :-)
