Friday was a fantastic day! I anticipated the arrival of my lovely friend, Courtney, all day! Her husband is a firefighter in Campe Verde and was working both Friday & Saturday. Since we had not seen each other since her Wedding in August, we finally found a weekend to do a girl's night! We started with some yummy dinner at Olive Garden where we took FOREVER because we would rather chat than eat our meal and then I took her to downtown Flagstaff since she is now 21. We went to Maloney's and ended up chatting there the entire night as well, then headed over to San Felipe's where we enjoyed some Midori Sours :-) We were home pretty early, but stayed up late talking and playing with our pups. She brought her little one, Gemma (pronounced, Jemma) since there was nobody to take care of her at home. We thought it would be a good idea so her and Booter could play, well....Booter was not too fond of Gemma. Poor Gemma wanted to play SO badly and Booter was just terrified. She started to warm up to Gemma, of course, when it was time for them to go home the next day. Sleeping that night was quite interesting...two girls and their two dogs all in one bed. Good thing I have a queen sized bed! Haha. Anytime Gemma would move, Booter would wake up and make sure she was far enough from her. It was way too quick of a visit, but I am happy I got to spend time with Miss Courtney!
Proceeding Courtney's decent back down to Camp Verde on Saturday morning, I went to spend the day at work with Little E. We played, laughed, and snuggled all day long. She is such a good little girl! She is starting to make the silliest face when she smiles and I just love to see it!
Later Saturday night, I went to a party close to the apartments with my roomie, Shawna. Of course with it being the weekend before Halloween, it was a costume party. Shawna was dressed as a pirate and I dressed as a firefighter (I bought the costume last year & never used it!). It was fun to see all the characters that night and I even got a few compliments on my costume. To my surprise, I was the only firefighter there!
Finally, on Sunday I spent the day at work again with Little E. Kappa Delta Pi had one of our socials that day, B.Y.O.P. (Bring Your Own Pumpkin), so I decided to buy a little pumpkin with some stickers and let Ellie decorate it. She didn't care so much for the pumpkins, she was more interested in the leaves and grass on campus. One of the best things I find about working with little ones is their curiosity for the simple things in life. I let her wander and explore everything she could. It was a productive day and definitely wore her out! She crashed in the car less than 3 minutes after we left NAU to head back to her house.
Here are some pictures you can enjoy from my eventful weekend! :-)
