HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

from the Lumberjill :-)

My baby pumpkin!

Dog or Human?

Little Miss Boots has human-like qualities that keep multiplying! They are most noticeable when she sleeps. Her positions are so human-like, but I am not complaining at all because I love the snuggle time! She will curl up into my chest and "spoon", be half under the covers and put her arms on top of them. She will also use her left paw to get my attention like a human being would while tapping another's shoulder. I guess she is a lefty :-)

Yes, she is wearing "long-john" pajamas from Target. I couldn't resist passing them up and the little 9lb. baby girl needs some extra help in the warmth department up in Flagstaff. When I take her potty at night/early morning, she shivers her little tooshie off! Mamma is just trying to keep her warm :-)

NON-STOP WEEKEND

Friday was a fantastic day! I anticipated the arrival of my lovely friend, Courtney, all day! Her husband is a firefighter in Campe Verde and was working both Friday & Saturday. Since we had not seen each other since her Wedding in August, we finally found a weekend to do a girl's night! We started with some  yummy dinner at Olive Garden where we took FOREVER because we would rather chat than eat our meal and then I took her to downtown Flagstaff since she is now 21. We went to Maloney's and ended up chatting there the entire night as well, then headed over to San Felipe's where we enjoyed some Midori Sours :-) We were home pretty early, but stayed up late talking and playing with our pups. She brought her little one, Gemma (pronounced, Jemma) since there was nobody to take care of her at home. We thought it would be a good idea so her and Booter could play, well....Booter was not too fond of Gemma. Poor Gemma wanted to play SO badly and Booter was just terrified. She started to warm up to Gemma, of course, when it was time for them to go home the next day. Sleeping that night was quite interesting...two girls and their two dogs all in one bed. Good thing I have a queen sized bed! Haha. Anytime Gemma would move, Booter would wake up and make sure she was far enough from her. It was way too quick of a visit, but I am happy I got to spend time with Miss Courtney!

Proceeding Courtney's decent back down to Camp Verde on Saturday morning, I went to spend the day at work with Little E. We played, laughed, and snuggled all day long. She is such a good little girl! She is starting to make the silliest face when she smiles and I just love to see it!

Later Saturday night, I went to a party close to the apartments with my roomie, Shawna. Of course with it being the weekend before Halloween, it was a costume party. Shawna was dressed as a pirate and I dressed as a firefighter (I bought the costume last year & never used it!). It was fun to see all the characters that night and I even got a few compliments on my costume. To my surprise, I was the only firefighter there!

Finally, on Sunday I spent the day at work again with Little E. Kappa Delta Pi had one of our socials that day, B.Y.O.P. (Bring Your Own Pumpkin), so I decided to buy a little pumpkin with some stickers and let Ellie decorate it. She didn't care so much for the pumpkins, she was more interested in the leaves and grass on campus. One of the best things I find about working with little ones is their curiosity for the simple things in life. I let her wander and explore everything she could. It was a productive day and definitely wore her out! She crashed in the car less than 3 minutes after we left NAU to head back to her house.

Here are some pictures you can enjoy from my eventful weekend! :-)

Random...but funny

So many people post videos by this girl on YouTube and some of them are actually pretty funny. There is not point to them what-so-ever, but if you need a good laugh she sure can make that happen! Her sense of humor can be somewhat crude and she does cuss, so watch at your own risk! :-)

PLAY BALL!

The San Fran Giants only have a few more hours to enjoy their reign as the World Series Champions until a new team will take over the title for the 2011 season. If you didn't already know, I LOVE ME SOME GIANTS! AND NO, I am not a "bandwagon" fan since they wont last year. Since I was 16 years old, the Giants have always had a special place in my heart, even if it all started with a cute pitcher ;-) And yes, we all know that my brother and dad support their BoSox and so do I as the "family" team. Throughout the 2011 season, I developed a "love" for a certain other player as well, Ryan Roberts on the AZ Diamondbacks. So, it looks like my love for the D-Backs has returned!

Who's it gonna' be?!

PERFECT SCORE!

I promised I would post the video once I receieve my grade...enjoy :-)

F.Y.I. I got 100% on the video and my teacher thought it was VERY good! She erged me to hold onto it because I can actually use this when I am a teacher if it applies to a lesson. It not only teaches students about Benjamin Franklin, but it promotes creativity and lets them know it is OKAY to laugh at yourself and be silly while learning at the same time.

9 out of 10 it was...

BEN! Okay, here's the explanation. I am taking a Social Studies Methods class and one of our projects is to pick a person in history and perform a skit, a funny and ridiculous one. It can either be filmed or done LIVE in class. Since I am not a HUGE fan of embarrassing myself in front of my peers, I decided to film my skit on Benjamin Franklin this past weekend when Ryan visited me. It is quite HI-LARIOUS if you ask me. Once I receive a grade, I might post the link to view this crazy video and you all can share a laugh with (at) me :-)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTER!

27 years ago my amazing sister, Jaime, came into this world. I don't know what I would do without her. She is an amazing daughter, sister, mommy, wife, friend, nurse, teacher, and so much more. She has been there for me through thick and thin and taught me all the important things in life (like how to put on makeup, haha). Over the years as we both have gotten older and our relationship has grown in amazing ways I never knew were possible. I am so blessed to have a wonderful lady like her to call my sister. I hope you have an amazing day because you deserve nothing but the best! I LOVE YOU SISTER! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Finally Legal!

Today my beautiful friend Courtney turns 21! I have known her for a few years now and we have become quite close. We have so much in common that we just fit each other so well. Every time we get together we manage to talk for HOURS (trust me, we talked the whole drive to Vegas one summer, haha) and always share tons of laughs. I had the opportunity to be a bridesmaid in her wedding in the past August and am so honored that she wanted me to be a part of her special day. She is a beautiful woman inside and out. I am so truly blessed for our friendship and I don't know what I would do without her in my life. We don't see each other as much as I'd like, but the times we do have together I cherish dearly. We always make up for lost time. Happy Birthday Courtney! I can't wait to have girls nights with some yummy pina coladas! :-)

Stopping in Camp Verde on our way home from Vegas...little did she know she would be marrying her fireman a year later :-)

Dancing with Daddy :-)

HE'S HOME!

After spending FIVE days in the hospital, Daddy is finally home! We were hoping that he would have made it home by Sunday at the latest, but Sunday morning he needed to receive a blood transfusion because his red blood count was low. This kept him one more day and he was finally discharged Monday evening. He can now focus on healing at home where he is surrounded by his loved ones. My mom is doing an amazing job at being his nurse. She is such a wonderful wife. Throughout the whole time my dad was in the hospital, she was always there. One of my dad's nurses even told him throughout his whole time working there, he has never seen anybody stay with a patient like she has. She is so selfless and is always by everyone's side whenever they need her. I love my mamma so much and hope I can be half the wife and mommy she is when that day comes.

Poor Boots...

(Passed out on the way home)

Poor Booter spent her Friday getting spayed. It was breaking my heart to see her so "loopy" after the surgery, but at the same time, she was SO adorable! I truly felt like a Mamma taking care of my baby after a trip to the doctors. She is healing nicely and is back to her crazy self, even though I have to try and limit her activity as much as possible! Enjoy some update pictures of my little one :-)

What a little cutie!

Look who got a haircut :-)

Make Cupcakes, Not War

Last year for my sister's baby shower, she requested cupcakes (party chip of course). Little did I know that making cupcakes for her baby shower would have sparked a hobby...or obsession? Ever since then, I have continued to make cupcakes and experiment with what I could do. I am OBSESSED with Cupcake Wars and think what they do on that show is UH-MAZING! This past weekend I ventured out of the "box" and made cupcakes from scratch(minus the frosting). They are DELICIOUS pumpkin cupcakes with a cream cheese frosting. Once I have a kitchen bigger than the one I have in this apartment, I will experiment more with baking from scratch. Here are some of my creations in the last year :-)

Jaime's requested Mother's Day cupcakes

Red, White, & Blue 4th of July Cupcakes

These were probably my most favorite!

Wanted to relieve some stress and made pink and white tye-dyed cupcakes

Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese frosting and a candy corn (I made the plate too, it says YUMMY on the bottom!)

ENJOY!

DADDY :-)

I don't say that I am a daddy's girl or mamma's...I am equally both. I have a strong bond with both of my parents that I cherish so much because not many people can say that they share this bond. Since the day I was born, my daddy has called me Booter. I am not jealous that my sister is princess because I think that Booter is unique and most people think it's cute. Tomorrow, my daddy undergoes his back fusion surgery and I am saddened that I cannot be there because I still have classes on Thursday that I need to attend. BUT, as soon as I am done, I am booking it home and heading right to that hospital. My dad injured his back in a fire many many years ago and ever since then he has battled the injury while still trying to work. The time has come where he is not on the firetruck anymore so he can get this surgery and heal the way he needs to. I am hoping this surgery will "fix" him and he will be able to do all the things he loves without pain. Please keep him and my family in your thoughts and prayers throughout this process. I love you daddy!

This is our special trait, haha

 "Uhh..you're my daughter?"
