Jaxson turns ONE!

I feel like this past year slipped right through my fingers. Don't get me wrong, it was quite the year with many adventures, new memories, and lots of love. However, I feel like it just went by way too fast. December 16, 2010 I became the luckiest girl in the world. I was blessed with my very first nephew and became an AUNT for the first time. While Jaime was pregnant with Jaxson (even though we didn't know if "it" was a boy or girl) I was already falling in love. I was baffled with how I could love someone so much that I had never even met. If I loved him that much, how much am I going to love my own unborn children? Love is truly a magnificent thing.

We were all anticipating what "it" was going to be and the time she was undergoing her C-Section was almost unbearable. I had so many thoughts running through my mind. Is she okay? Are we going to have a Jaxson or Peyton? Is the baby going to be okay? Finally, we were all called in through the "big doors" where we met Matt. He had the BIGGEST smile on his face, I think the last time I saw him smile that big was the day he said I Do to my sister. He looked at my mom and said "You owe me 100 bucks" and we all knew that meant it was a...BOY! As soon as he was in the nursery, we all swarmed the window. He was PERFECT even with his little side conehead. The grandparents were allowed to go see him one-by-one and I was SO jealous! He was already causing trouble by pulling on cords, we should have known he was going to be a wild one!

Finally, Jaime was back in her room. Baby Jax and Mamma were reunited. Jaime was just so comfortable with him, it was crazy how instant "mommyhood" kicked in for her no matter how exhausted and sore she was. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the little man! Becoming an aunt and holding him for the first time was one of the most amazing moments of my life and I will cherish it forever. A year later, he has me wrapped around his finger and I don't mind one bit. His sloppy kisses, big hugs, smile, laugh, and so much more are the best things in the world. I LOVE YOU JAXSON MATTHEW! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
